Filtration Solution Saves Refinery $350,000 in Spent Caustic
Disposal Fees
CUSTOMER PROBLEM:
During a brown bag presentation at a refinery, a refinery
employee mentioned that spent caustic they normally sell became
contaminated through an accidental introduction of dirty water.
RAIN FOR RENT RESPONDS:
Rain for Rent suggested filtering the product back
to its original state.

Because of the harshness of the chemicals and a pH
of 12-13, only Stainless Steel parts with Teflon gaskets could be
used. Rain for Rent proposed filtering the product through a BF200
and PF200 into three 21,000 gallon stainless steel frac tanks using
a DV-100SS.
The product was filtered successfully and thus saved
the refinery approximately $350,000 in disposal fees.
